Part 7 - Opelucid City & Team Plasma
Opelucid City
Items: Smoke Ball, Gift Box^ (Prop) / (Prop) / (Prop) / (Prop), Float Stone, Ring Target
^ - you can only receive this item if you have the Prop Case / Come to the man each day until you get all four props listed
When you enter, you will meet up with Iris for the first time since Castelia City. She reveals that Drayden is Iris' Grandpa. She tells you to train at Route 9 first before challenging him. Sounds like a good idea - yes you do have to talk to him, but it will likely not happen until after you defeat him in a Gym Battle, he is currently stationed in the Gym (one of the few blasted times the Gym is NOT blocked when you first enter). Iris leaves. Head to the Center and heal up, explore the City (outside of the Gym) and then exit west to Route 9.
You will notice a different layout if you are playing one version than the other. Black 2 Version is more tech-savvy while White 2 is more stone-aged. Much like it was in Black & White respectively. Just like two years ago, everything is still in the same spot with some tweaks to some things (like the Gym when we challenge it, but not right now). The outline of the city in terms of where everything is the same.
Route 9
Wild Pokemon: Garbodor***, Liepard***, Minccino, Muk***, Pawniard, Duosion (W2), Gothorita (B2), Audino*, Cinccino*, Emolga*, Gothitelle*, Reuniclus*, Bouffalant (HG)
Trainers Pokemon: Roughneck (Krokorok LV43), Roughneck (Scraggy LV43), Biker (Pawniard LV43), Biker (Skorupi LV43), Hooligans (Double Battle - Krookodile LV42, Drapion LV42)
Items: Elixir, Dark Gem, Iron, Nugget, Quick Ball, HP Up
Go south into the grassy area, find the Elixir in plain sight. Continue along the grassy area path using the Dowsing Machine and find a Dark Gem.
If you have been on Route 9 before, you know from the past that there is a cave on the west end of where you are at - however the entrance is closed up due to the Rock Slide from Route 10 and will remain closed in the game - so you cannot enter. Grab the Iron near the entrance then go back the way you came. Battle the trainer (if you haven't already), go northwest of the Dark grass to find a narrow space path and pick up a Nugget. Go back to the pave part of the route and battle the remaining trainers and pick up the remaining items. There is a Hidden Grotto to the northwest of this short route to explore as well.
Try to exit west to the Tubeline Bridge to see that it is blocked - this excuse is to see how many people that the bridge can withstand. Like many other places that are blocked off, you cannot access it until you defeat the Elite Four. There is one more place to visit though on Route 9: Shopping Mall Nine - the building in the middle of Route 9. Go there.
Shopping Mall Nine
Trainers Pokemon: Waitress (Minccino LV43), Waiter (Liepard LV43)
Items: Poke Doll, Energy Root
It is basically one big Pokemon Mart seperated into three floors. The lady on the first floor to the left has your normal healing and status clearing items along with your repels and what-not. On the second floor, the person on the left will have all your Mail items and all Poke Balls. The person on the right of the second floor will sell two TM's - TM15 (Hyper Beam) and TM68 (Giga Impact). Might be worth getting dependent on your current team. On the third floor - both clerks are to the left - the one on the left will have your stat building items (Protein, Zinc, Iron, etc...), on the the right will have in-battle stat raising items (X Attack, etc...). The vending machines are just outside and on the right side of the third floor - and really everywhere throughout Unova.
There are also a few other items - and believe it or not, trainers - in here as well. As you can see, there are two trainers you can battle along with a Poke Doll to pick up (in the room to the right on the first floor). In the room on the first floor, if you have Rotom in your party - which you can only get after defeating the Elite Four - this is where you can change its form by going to one of the boxes there.
Talk to the lady on the far left on the first floor. She will task you to buying a Hyper Potion for her (she will hand you the money in order to buy it - 1200 - the price of a Hyper Potion). Complete the task, then talk to her to hand her the Hyper Potion for which in return she will hand you an Energy Root. When you are done battling the two trainers there and buying what you want from there, exit the place and then exit Route 9 back to Opelucid City. Heal up, then - if you are ready - challenge Drayden in the Gym. If you don't think you are ready, just head out to Route 9 or 11 to train until you think you are.
Opelucid Gym
Trainers Pokemon: Veteran (Fraxure LV46), Veteran (Fraxure LV45, Druddigon LV45), Veteran (Fraxure LV45, Druddigon LV45), Veteran (Triple Battle - Fraxure LV44, Druddigon LV44, Axew LV44), Veteran (Rotation Battle - Fraxure LV44, Druddigon LV44, Axew LV44)
Items: Fresh Water, TM82 (Dragon Tail)
The structure of the Gym is the same, the only difference between Black 2 and White 2 is that while playing Black 2, the Dragon you start on is black while it is white in White 2 - but that is really the only difference. The trainers are the same and how you approach the gym is the same. The Gym Music though sounds dramatically heroic.
You must battle 3 trainers and defeat them in order to reach Drayden. You can battle all 5 if you want but you only have to defeat three - including one in either a Rotation Battle or a Triple Battle. Walk in and get your obligatory Fresh Water from the guide. The camera pans to the two huge dragon statues. The puzzle is simple, get to the top by defeating the said trainers in battle. Talk to the first one along the path to get started. When you defeat him, there are two choices: the left trainer focuses on Defense, the right on offense. Defeat one or the other and advance up. On the third tier, the left focuses on Rotation Battles and the right focuses on Triple Battles. Choose one or the other to fight to reach the top. Drayden as I've said previously is the master of Dragon-types. Ice-type moves are very effective. Dragon-type moves are as well - but be aware because of the type-advantage to its own type means that it will also be effective if you use a Dragon-type attack with a Dragon-type.
Reach the top and challenge Drayden to a Gym Battle.
GYM LEADER BATTLE: DRAYDEN
Druddigon - Level 46
Flygon - Level 46
Haxorus - Level 48
Prize Money: 5760
His leadoff is Druddigon - a pure Dragon-type. Try not to use physical moves because of its ability of Rough Skin, damaging your Pokemon. His next is Flygon which is easier due to its Ground-typing, allowing Water-type moves to be normally effective against it (it is not as effective against the other Pokemon because of the pure Dragon-type Pokemon they are), although Rock and Poison-type attacks will have a harder time because of its Ground-typing. Electric-type moves will not do anything to it. Haxorus is his ace at Level 48, the highest level you have faced thus far. It is another pure Dragon-type. Do the same thing you did with Druddigon and do all you can to take it out. Use strong attacks if you do not have Ice-types at your disposal.
Defeating Drayden will earn you the Legend Badge, your 7th Gym Badge - leaving you with just one badge to go. With it, all Pokemon up to Level 80 will obey you. He will also hand over TM82 (Dragon Tail). He eventually finds the other reason why your here and that is talking about the Legendary Dragon-type Pokemon and tells you to wait outside. So exit the Gym - by going down to the main level on the dragon opposite Drayden.
Opelucid City
Trainers Pokemon: Team Plasma Grunt (Watchog LV44, Muk LV44), Team Plasma Grunt (Golbat LV44, Garbodor LV44), Team Plasma Grunt (Seviper LV44, Weezing LV44), Team Plasma Shadow (Pawniard LV46 x2, Absol LV46)
Drayden will follow you out once you make it out. He'll go to his house - follow him by going south, then turn eastward, then northward before you reach the Center. Heal up first, then go to Drayden. Follow him into his house. He reveals this will be long, but to listen close.
He tells the story basically of what you heard over and over in Black & White Versions two years ago. He goes on to tell that a third Pokemon called Kyurem - which is blue-worded in the game - came to exist. He has proof that the story he is telling is true with the DNA Splicers. Juniper had researched that the DNA Splicers date back to the era the materials where used in building the Dragonspiral Tower (which is north of Icirrus City - a city that used to have a Gym). He reveals that the DNA Splicers are in very safe storage. He thinks there could be one more Dragon Pokemon - namely Kyurem. Soon, a rocking occurs outside. The two of you go outside to figure out what it is.
The scene shifts to the area to reveal the Plasma Frigate firing Ice Crystal Beams to cover Opelucid City in ice. The scene shifts back to you and Drayden. Drayden brings out Haxorus to use Dragon Tail on the Ice, but it fails to break, Drayden returns Haxorus. Team Plasma reveals themselves with Zinzolin leading the way. He reveals that this is Team Plasma's technology at work with the ice. He demands the DNA Splicers - obviously Drayden refuses. Drayden leaves to fight Team Plasma. You are now free to move around. Beware of the ice as it can slide. You can still reach the Center and heal your Pokemon whenever you feel and buy items from the mart.
You will find Drayden out in-front of the Center, talk to him to tell you to take care of the rest of Team Plasma. Battle each free Grunt you see. Afterward, go back to the Gym to find Zinzolin for another battle with him.
ZINZOLIN BATTLE 2:
Cryogonal - Level 46 (x2)
Weavile - Level 48
Three Ice-types? Pssh. Fire/Steel/Fighting/Rock-type moves will do it - too many of them for you not to have at least one of those. Weavile is also weak to Bug-types because of its Dark-typing as well. Not much different than the last time you fought him. If you started with Pignite at the start of the game, it should be a Emboar and should have learned the powerful Flamethrower move by now.
Zinzolin will leave after complaining about the cold again, but envisions a region full of ice...ok...Drayden will appear in-front of the Gym with you. Drayden heals your Pokemon. Drayden grabs the DNA Splicers that were hidden in the Gym - the reason that Gym was renovated from two years ago - and the Shadow Triad was near you the entire time. They steal them and run off, find them at the east exit of the city toward Route 11.
When you get close enough, one of the members will engage a battle with you. Defeat him only to find out he was just buying time for the other two to escape with the DNA Splicers. He'll escape just as Drayden is running up to try to get him. Drayden compliments you while blaming himself. Your Xtransceiver rings and it is your rival Hugh along with Cheren. The two recall the ship passing by the city you are in. Cheren reveals he is close to Opelucid City himself. He shows up after you hang up after more complaining from Drayden. It is at this point it is revealed that Lenora - the former Gym Leader of Nacrene City - was replaced by Cheren, if you did not figure it out by your Basic Badge you earned from him as that was the same badge given out by Lenora in Black & White Versions. Cheren reveals that the current lowest temperature is currently in Humilau City. Cheren asks for your help, he'll leave back to Route 11. Drayden hints as to how to get there: Undella Town - Fly there, heal, and go to the Marine Tube which will now be open.
Marine Tube
Items: Black Sludge, TM42 (Facade)
Right before you enter the Tube, your Xtransceiver will ring with your rival calling. He tells you to go through the Marine Tube to reach Humilau City. Go in.
Another brilliant job by the makers of this game, the scenery is unbelievable when you go through it the first time. There will be a woman in the middle wanting to know if you have a Pokemon holding a Poison Barb, if you do, she will hand you the Black Sludge. When equipped to a Poison-type Pokemon, it will be just like the Leftovers item - however on all other types, it damages you.
At the other gate, talk to the pink lady to get TM42 (Facade) exit to Humilau City.
Humilau City
Wild Pokemon: Frillish (S), Staryu (S), Basculin(B) (W2 / B2*, S), Basculin(R) (B2 / W2*, S), Corsola (S*), Jellicent (S*), Starmie (S*)
Items: Shell Bell, Heart Scale (x2), Full Restore, Protein, Pearl
Hugh will meet you next to the Gym if you go any further north then him. Your rival tells you to take on the Gym Leader there - so naturally you will do that, however when you go past the Gym Guide he will stop you to say the Gym Leader is off swimming, sigh, so go out and find him. There is water north of the Gym, so go north.
Attempt to enter the first house along the pier to have Marlon - the Humilau City Gym Leader - pop out of the water with a surfer accent. He'll trot back to the Gym. You can go on ahead and challenge his Gym but let's continue exploring the city. Enter the house you attempted to enter before Marlon and the man right at the entrance is another Move Tutor - this one will accept Yellow Shards to teach moves. His moves are Bind, Snore, Heal Bell, Knock Off, Synthesis, Roost, Sky Attack, Role Play, Heat Wave, Giga Drain, Pain Split, and Tailwind.
Continue around to the east-then-north and find a Heart Scale item along the walk-able water surface. Use the Dowsing Machine to find another. Go up the nearby ramp and follow the path around until you reach another ramp. Instead of taking the ramp, go into the nearby house. Check the trash can for a Full Restore - which is basically a Max Potion and a Full Heal in one. Talk to the man there if you want to trade a Mantine for a Tangrowth. If you want to trade, do so.
Go out of the house then down the ramp. Go north and west past the ramp you went on earlier to the furthest northwestern ramp. Follow its path northeastward and find a Protein. Go into the house nearby and talk to the lady who wants someone to walk her Mienfoo. Do so, and walk....and walk....and walk - and don't leave the darn place or check the trash can or watch TV or you will get scolded - and walk...and walk...and walk...and walk - don't run or it won't get done. Talk to Mienfoo every once in a while to see if it is happy and satisfied yet. When it does, return Mienfoo to the lady and she will reward you with a ... Pearl. If you want to deal with this rude evil witch again - uh, I mean if you want to happily do this again, you can do this every day.
You can leave westward to Route 22 and train before your Gym Match, I will get to that much later, however I will go to the Gym. So head for the Gym and challenge the leader for your final Gym Badge that is required to take on the Elite Four.
Humilau Gym
Trainers Pokemon: Ace Trainer (Floatzel LV47, Mantine LV47), Ace Trainer (Alonomola LV48), Ace Trainer (Walrein LV48), Ace Trainer (Pelipper LV47, Wailord LV47), Ace Trainer (Golduck LV47, Starmie LV47), Ace Trainer (Basculin(R) LV46, Basculin(B) LV46, Azumarill LV46
Items: Fresh Water, TM55 (Scald)
Go in and - with a nice aquatic gym theme song - talk to the guide and get your free Fresh Water. The guide explains how to work the puzzle, in which this Gym uses lily pads to cross. When you jump on them, the momentum will carry you and the pad across the water.
To get to Marlon: Up, left, hop on the pad, up, battle the trainer, hop on the pad, up, hop on the pad, up, battle the trainer, hop on the pad, right, up, hop on the pad (goes nowhere), up, left, hop on the pad going down, left, hop on the pad going right, up, talk to battle the trainer, hop on the pad (goes nowhere), down, right, hop on the pad (goes nowhere), up, battle the trainer, hop on the pad going left, hop on the pad going up, right, battle the trainer, hop on the pad going down, right, battle the trainer, hop on the pad going left, down, hop on the same pad going up, hop on the same pad going right, up, Marlon is at the end. (Note: If you need to, take the same pad going down - which will bring you back to the front of the gym. The lily pads will NOT rest themselves, so you can go back to the Center and heal and have an easy route back to Marlon)
Challenge water boy here for your last Gym Badge.
GYM LEADER BATTLE: MARLON
Carracosta - Level 49
Wailord - Level 49
Jellicent - Level 51
Prize Money: 12240
Marlon leads off with Carracosta - a combo Water/Rock-type. I battled him with the Sturdy ability but I understand that it may not have the same ability in each game. If your Carracosta has the Sturdy Ability, use a different attack before using your Grass/Electric attacks to knock it out, Sturdy prevents 1-hit KOs. Wailord is a powerful being, but nothing that Grass or Electric attacks wouldn't knock it out. Jellicent is his ace and it has a curve ball - it is part-Ghost, thus Normal & Fighting-type moves will do nothing to it. However, it being part Ghost-type gives it the Dark-type weakness. Hit it with Dark-types on top of your Grass and Electric attacks to finish him off.
Defeating Marlon will earn you the Wave Badge - your 8th and final Gym Badge required to enter the Pokemon League and challenge the Elite Four. Besides accomplishing that requirement, it also means all Pokemon will "be tight" with you regardless of obtainment (it'll obey all your commands in other words). Marlon will also hand over TM55 (Scald). Marlon swims off out the back side of the gym. Exit the gym in the other direction. Hop on the pad southward and out.
Humilau City
Hugh will greet you and congratulate you on obtaining all 8 badges. He says that Team Plasma will come first, but before you can search for them. Marlon - who somehow comes from the south side of your screen when he exited north of the Gym just moments ago - comes up and ask who Team Plasma is as he does not know. Marlon leaves daydreaming in his own little ocean world. Hugh makes a comment about it. Hugh tells you to check Route 22, lets go up that way. Heal up, buy Ultra Balls - again - you know what is coming when I say that - and leave northwestward to Route 22.
Route 22
Wild Pokemon: Amoonguss***, Delibird, Golduck, Lunatone, Marill^ (S**), Mienfoo***, Pelipper***, Solrock, Audino*, Azumarill* (S*), Emolga*, Basculin(B) (W2 / B2*, S) Basculin(R) (B2 / W2*, S), Terrakion$

Items: Carbos, PP Up, Colress Machine, Green Shard, Calcium, Rare Candy, Poison Barb, Max Potion
^ - Can be found in the wild grass and while surfing
$ - Only one is available in the game
# - This trainer will battle you each time you enter Route 22
Battle the trainer on the beach, then take the stairs up. Go north and use the Dowsing Machine to find a Carbos. Go left down some small steps. Follow the path and then beat another trainer. You will see to "items" to the north in the dark grass. One is an Amoonguss (to the right), unless you want to battle it, avoid that. The one on the left is a PP Up. Continue westard and find Terrakion standing there. Approach it to be stopped by Colress and have him reveal the Pokemon to you. Colress believes it is in-front of you for a reason and asks if you plan to confront Team Plasma, which in return you answer yes. Colress will hand you a machine he made up. He says it might be useful for something. He mentions the Seaside Cave as he is leaving that reminded him of your meeting with him on Route 4...take those as hints for later.
As like the other two before this, you can choose to battle and capture it now or wait for another time. It is not a requirement to battle Terrakion right now. It will also be at Level 45. Speak to it when you are ready to capture it.
Continue south along the narrow bridge, use the Dowsing Machine to find a Green Shard on the platform, then continue across to the right onto the following bridge. Use Strength to push the bolder into the hole. That now creates a shortcut for the future. Battle the trainer there - who is another "battle each time you enter route" trainer - Surf across the pond and land to the left, go all the way to pick up a Calcium. Go back across the pond and go back on the bridge on the original path you took. Go back on the second narrow bridge that you took from where Terrakion was/is standing but hop off where the item is in the dark grass to pick up a Rare Candy. Go through the dark grass and battle the Hiker before the ledge. Hop the ledge south then continue west along the path until you come across a raised area that has a grassy area. To the south of that is a Poison Barb - which you needed back at the Marine Tube (you can go back later and get the item from the Tube). Go down the stairs and go north alongside the grassy area there. You will see two "items"; the one furthest from you is a Red Shard, the one closer to you is a Amoonguss. Continue north and battle the trainer. Continue around the grassy area, bypass the cave entrance (we will get there later) and battle the Ace Trainer at the south end. Go onto the narrow bridge there and go straight north (right side of the fork), at the end pick up a Max Potion. Go back and take the other side of the fork to the left. Zig-zag your way to the back. Continue across another bridge and find a Hidden Grotto at the end of it. Explore it, then make your way back to Humilau City. Heal your Pokemon, the proceed south to Route 21 - a water route and the route that will bring you to the Seaside Cave that is at the end. Bring a Pokemon that knows Surf.

Battle the trainer, continue southeast from her, battle the next trainer, continue west-then-south, battle yet another trainer, continue south until you hit land, battle another trainer, continue north on the path and pick up the Big Pearl there. U-Turn back south and battle the trainer, continue south and hit dry land. Go past the doctor and find a small space in the trees, go south after going by the trees and find a PP Up. Battle the Fisherman there, then go back through the trees and battle the Doctor who will heal your Pokemon once you defeat him. Go south into the Seaside Cave.

^ - only one is available in the Seaside Cave
Go south and battle the first trainer you see, hop the ledge to the left and battle the trainer. Use the Dowsing Machine to find a Blue Shard. Continue over the ledge due south and make a left to find a Dive Ball. Hop over the next ledge and battle another Ranger. Continue south to find a Black Belt with his Roggenrola out of their Poke Balls. Challenge him to a battle to clear the way south for future use. He will leave afterward. Go back north along the path, pick up the Full Restore along the way. Exit back out north to heal your Pokemon with the Doctor there on Route 21. Go back in, hop the ledge then this time, hop the right ledge then go down the stairs and continue south. Fight the Black Belt when you reach the water. Continue east using Surf, hit the island there to pick up a Heart Scale, Surf north from there. Go all the way to the end and take the stairs to the left down to the next room.
Go south along the path without taking any stairs and find a Max Repel at the end. Take the stairs to the platform above you and use Strength to push the boulder into the hole. Continue east then battle another trainer. Go up the stairs ahead and push the boulder into the hole. Push the left boulder near you into the hole above it. Push the next boulder on the left up-then-right into the hole there. Continue around south and push the boulder there down to the hole below it. Push the boulder to the right-then-up to the hole above it. Grab the Rare Candy, then push the remaining boulder into the last hole. Go north and follow the path to the last trainer in the room. Proceed upstairs.
Continue west up the stairs and at the top find TM06 (Toxic), go back down and hop the ledge back where you were before you went downstairs. Go up the stairs and find something in your way of the exit. Talk to it to be prompted to use the Colress Machine you picked up on Route 22 on it. Answer yes to be drawn into a wild battle with a LV42 Crustle. Defeat it or run from it. The Colress Machine you use will break (piece of junk....), use the Dowsing Machine to find a Calcium above you. Exit the cave to the east back out to the exterior portion of Route 21.
Route 21 (Exterior)
Take a few steps to have the camera pan to the Plasma Frigate in the vicinity. Hugh will enter from the Seaside Cave to figure out you found them. Hugh wonders how to get in - as if to answer his question, the screen goes black while a plank making lots of noise falls. The scene returns to find Marlon was the one making the racket but allowing you to get in. Marlon exits via into the Seaside Cave while Hugh makes another comment about his style of doing things. Hugh runs in, you follow him.
Plasma Frigate
Trainers Pokemon: Team Plasma Grunt (Watchog LV46, Garbodor LV46), Team Plasma Grunts (Double Battle - Seviper LV46, Garbodor LV46 / Golbat LV46, Drapion LV46), Team Plasma Grunt (Krookodile LV47), Team Plasma Grunt (Draipon LV47), Team Plasma Grunt (Whirlipede LV46, Watchog LV46), Team Plasma Grunt (Garbodor LV47), Team Plasma Grunt (Pawniard LV45 x3), Team Plasma Grunt (Scraggy LV46, Liepard LV46), Team Plasma Grunt (Krokorok LV46, Raticate LV46), Team Plasma Grunt (Weezing LV47), Team Plasma Grunt (Deino LV45 x2, Sneasel LV45)
Items: TM67 (Retaliate), Revive (see below for further items)
You will immediately be drawn into battle with a Grunt. After his defeat, Hugh will run up to the north end of the ship. You go southeast up onto the deck on the right side all the way to the end and pick up TM67 (Retaliate). You cannot go south as a sleeping Grunt blocks the way, so head north to where Hugh went. Bypass Hugh by going up the steps to the northern deck and pick up a Revive. Go back to Hugh and he will enter north, you will follow.
Once again, you are immediately drawn into battle - this time a Double Battle with Hugh. Your rival will use his fully evolved Level 50 starter to counter. The two Grunts runoff to tell their boss about you. At this point, Black 2 & White 2 go in different directions with the story line. Black 2 on the left, White 2 on the right to continue - the battles will be the same and contain the same Pokemon:
Route 9

Trainers Pokemon: Ace Trainer (Starmie LV47, Drapion LV47), Backpacker (Vanillite LV45, Bouffalant LV45), Pokemon Breeder# (Camerupt LV45, Grumpig LV45), Hiker (Nosepass LV45, Steelix LV45), Backpacker (Swinub LV45, Darmanitan LV45), Ace Trainer (Arcanine LV47, Excadrill LV47)
Route 21

Items: Big Pearl, PP Up
^ - will heal Pokemon to full strength if you defeat the Doctor in a Pokemon Battle
Seaside Cave

Items: Persim Berry (x2), Blue Shard, Dive Ball, Full Restore, Heart Scale, Max Repel, Rare Candy, TM06 (Toxic), Calcium
BLACKItems: Magmarizer
In Black 2, you will need to find the path to the switches (which you can see on your screen) and deactivate all of them. Hugh runs off to find the switches. There is also one more Grunt battle than White 2 has. Exit the room, then enter the room directly below it. Hugh finds another Team Plasma member - in a room crawling with them - but figures out he is another Ex-Team Plasma member. Hugh once again fails to make headway on the stolen Purrloin and runs off to the room in the bottom right. This time, if your Pokemon can't handle another battle, avoid the moving Grunt and enter the room on the top-right. Hit the bed on the top left to heal your Pokemon - remember this location if you need to heal up. Grab the Magmarizer in the area to the southeast of the room. Exit the room to the left. Battle the two Grunts moving about. Then enter the middle left door. Talk to the Grunt in there (no battle) and hear about the legendary Pokemon Reshiram & Zekrom. Both will be registered in the Pokedex. Exit the room then enter the top-left room. Battle the two Grunts there. Use the Warp Panel on the top left above the left Grunt and deactivate a switch. Warp back and exit the room. Enter the bottom left room and battle the two Grunts there. Take the Warp Panel above the far left Grunt and deactivate another switch. Warp back and exit the room. Enter the middle-right room and battle the two Grunts there. Take the Warp Panel above the far left Grunt and deactivate another switch. Warp back and exit the room. Enter the bottom-right room and battle the Grunt there. Take the Warp Panel below the Grunt and deactivate the last switch. Warp back and exit the room, heal up in the top-right room then go back outside and back across to the other room. Hit the Warp Panel that was previously blocked off. |
WHITEItems: Plasma Card, Electirizer
In White 2, a Plasma Card is required to get through the barriers. Hugh runs off attempting to retrieve the passwords to unlock them. Exit the room, then go clear to the other side and enter the room above the sleeping Grunt. Hugh finds another Team Plasma member - in a room crawling with them - but figures out he is another Ex-Team Plasma member. Hugh once again fails to make headway on the stolen Purrloin and runs off. This time, if your Pokemon can't handle another battle, avoid the moving Grunt and enter the room on the middle-right. Use the bed to heal your Pokemon - remember this location if you need to heal up. Enter either through the bottom-left or middle-left door and battle the Grunt behind the table then to the middle left where the tables are. The latter if you defeat the Grunt will give you the Plasma Card - required to break through the barriers. Now you need to get the password. Now talk to the Grunt (no battle required) to the northwest part of the room and hear about the legendary Pokemon Reshiram & Zekrom. Both will be registered in the Pokedex. Grab the Electirizer item that you probably saw when walking through the room in the middle-right then exit the room. Battle all the Grunts in the top-left, top-right and bottom-right rooms along with the two trainers in the main room. You will receive password clues (different in each game, you must figure the password out yourself, I am not much help since each separate adventure is different with their clues). When you have defeated all the Grunts and have obtained the Plasma Card, exit back up the stairs to the deck and enter the northern most room you can access from the deck. Enter the password once you have it figured out and the barriers will deactivate. Hit the Warp Panel ahead. |
Upon taking two steps, Zinzolin with his back turned knew of you coming in. He reveals the hole he was standing over allowing you to see Kyurem. The camera pans to it and the Legendary Pokemon makes a weak cry. Zinzolin intends to beat you in a Pokemon Battle, but Hugh shows up in time to back you up. The Grunt near him and Zinzolin engage you and Hugh to a Double Battle:
ZINZOLIN BATTLE 3: (Double Battle)
Cryogonal - Level 48 x2
Weavile - Level 50
Team Plasma Grunt's Pokemon:
Liepard - Level 45
Watchog - Level 45
Scolipede - Level 45
Prize Money: 10800
Zinzolin's levels have gone up by just 6 since your last encounter two Gym Badges ago. Another easy battle because yours should have grown much more since then. The Grunt's Pokemon is nothing more than you faced getting to this point and at a significantly lower levels than where your Pokemon should be at this point and what you have been facing lately anyways. Your rival will counter with his starter at Level 50.
Hugh and Zinzolin exchange dialogue about the Purrloin again, Zinzolin plans to use Kyurem to attack again with its ice power. The Shadow Triad are summoned to knock you out once more and take you off the ship.
The scene shifts to the Plasma Frigate on the outside as it goes into the air out of the water and flies off to escape.
Route 21 (Exterior)
Cheren arrives way late but reveals that the ship is heading towards the Giant Chasm. Hugh tells you to go with him deep into Route 22 - that cave we bypassed earlier, yes we are going in this time. Cheren believes the only way to stop them is to have one of the two Legendary Pokemon Reshiram or Zekrom to stop them. Fly back to Humilau City, heal, and go back to Route 22. This time take the cave at the end of Route 22.
Giant Chasm (Cave)
Wild Pokemon: Clefairy, Delibird, Lunatone, Piloswine, Sneasel, Solrock, Vanillish, Excadrill*, Seel (S**), Basculin(B) (W2 / B2*, S), Basculin(R) (B2 / W2*, S), Dewgong (S*)
Items: TM13 (Ice Beam), Star Piece (x2), Max Repel, Ultra Ball, Ice Gem
Enter the cave and head southward until you find two Team Plasma Grunts. Walk close enough where Hugh will come up from behind. Hugh is ready to battle them until a third Team Plasma member gives a signal to not block the path anymore. Hugh gets suspicious and makes a creative way to talk about starting a battle with the third Grunt. The Grunt is one of the spies you ran into earlier from Rood. Hugh gives him a pass and advances on ahead. The spy runs off after a little more dialogue. We will get going but we will explore the cave area first.
Continue south until you find a boulder. Push it to the hole next to it. Go up to the water and Surf all the way across to pick up TM13 (Ice Beam) - one of the worth while TM's. Go back across but hop off to the left. Continue along the path but go south once you reach the stairs going that lead out. Continue left to where you will find an exit south. Use the Dowsing Machine and find a Star Piece. Get the Max Repel that you see on the left, push the boulder into the hole to get to it. Go north from here. Continue and pass by the two Team Plasma members blocking the exit to the west. They will not do anything besides "none shall pass". That is the exit to Route 23 which we will not get to until after we get rid of Team Plasma. Continue north and use the Dowsing Machine to find an Ultra Ball. Go to the boulder on the right and push it into the hole to reach a Star Piece. Continue east with the Dowsing Machine still in use. Push the next boulder you see into the hole then locate the Ice Gem with the Dowsing Machine.
Go back around to where you first entered, then follow the path bacj to the big stairs going down. Go down those stairs and exit the cave area of the Giant Chasm.

Items: Max Revive (x3), Razor Claw, Moon Stone
Note: The Hidden Grotto will not be reachable until you get rid of Team Plasma
You'll note a bunch of people ahead. Go up to them to be stopped by Hugh who tells you to wait as Rood is here trying to talk some sense into the current Team Plasma members. It quickly fails. Banter ensues between Hugh and Team Plasma. Team Plasma vows to wipe all of you out. You will be drawn into a traditional Single Battle with a Grunt.
Defeat him and Rood will reward you with Max Revives (3 of them) - twice as good as a normal Revive. Instead of reviving half of your Pokemon's HP after it faints, it'll recover all of it. Your rival finally figures out that the Shadow Triad is currently in possession of the Purrloin and runs off toward the ice. You are finally able to move on your own, so pick up the Razor Claw on the far left that you saw coming in. Go beyond the Team Plasma fight to the left and pick up the Moon Stone. Now go to the right of the fight and find stairs to the Ice.
On the Ice, go up, right, up, left, down, left, down, down, down, right and into the Plasma Frigate again.

You will see Hugh when you enter, but none of the Plasma members will battle you this time as Hugh has them taken care of in search of Purrloin. Go south on the ship and take the southern most entrance.
....annnnnd get ambushed into a Double Battle. Defeat their full team of Pokemon and hit the Warp Panel ahead.
After going through the Warp Panel, the Ex-Team Plasma member will reveal of a maze of pipes and what to do with them in order to advance. At this point again, Black 2 & White 2 take different paths to the Story Line:

After going through the Warp Panel, the Ex-Team Plasma member will reveal of a maze of pipes and what to do with them in order to advance. At this point again, Black 2 & White 2 take different paths to the Story Line:
BLACKItems: Plasma Card
In Black 2 Version, you will have to find and obtain the Plasma Card as well as get the password to deactivate the barrier preventing you from advancing. Make your way to the back and pick up a Max Revive and a Max Elixir on the left side. Go right along the back platform and battle the Doctor. Defeat him and he will heal your Pokemon. Remember that spot if you have Pokemon hurt. You will have to battle all the Grunts (a total of 9 + a Doctor) on the floor to get the password and the Plasma Card required to enter the Password. Each seperate game is different, so you will have to pay attention to what password is given to you, it could be numbers or letters that is given as a password so no two passwords are alike. Pick up all the items as well. Once you have all four password numbers/letters and the Plasma Card, go back to the front and enter them in the computer. If they are correct, the barrier will deactivate. |
WHITEIn White 2 Version, you will have to use the Warp Panels to get to the four switches that will deactivate the barriers preventing you from advancing further.
|
Once you have deactivated the barrier, go forward to see Kyurem. The camera will pan to it as Zinzolin will come from behind you. He reveals to you that it is indestructible so that even Kyurem can't break free. Zinzolin will engage you into a battle once more.
ZINZOLIN BATTLE 4:
Cryogonal - Level 49 x2
Weavile - Level 51
Prize Money: 9180
He has just upped his levels by 1 this time, except this time it is a traditional Single Battle. Same tactics as the other three battles as he has nothing new.
Zinzolin seems shocked he was beaten for the fourth time by you. Proceed to the Warp Panel on the right.
The camera will pan to Colress who reveals that he is a part of Team Plasma but for a entirely different reason. Approach him for a battle.
COLRESS BATTLE 3:
Magneton - Level 50
Magnezone - Level 50
Beheeyem - Level 50
Metang - Level 50
Kilnklang - Level 50
Prize Money: 10400
A big change since your battle at the PWT. He now has a Magneton and a Magnezone both of which has evolved since their Magnemite days. His Kilnk has evolved and he now has a Metang and a Beheeyem. Still, 4 of his 5 Pokemon are Steel-types. Ground/Fire-type moves work best, Fighting-types will prove as effective. For Beheeyem, get your Dark/Bug-type moves out. He has a Full Restore on him if he needs it.
Answer yes to his question of obtaining higher goals with your Pokemon. He still plans to research and continue his goal of drawing out the power of Pokemon. Use the Warp Panel to exit the room.
If you need to, find the Doctor and heal your Pokemon. Go back and this time and confront the Grunt on the left, who reveals he can't battle because he has no Pokemon. He runs off crying, allowing you to use the left Warp Panel.
You will be in auto-mode and Ghetsis who is watching many TV screens can't believe Colress couldn't defeat you. He rants about his plans to take over Unova and what he is using Kyurem for. A member of the Shadow Triad pops out that Kyurem has been transferred as part of their plan. Ghetsis leaves. Hugh enters to confront the Shadow Triad and about Purrloin. His search comes to an end as he releases Liepard - who has evolved since being stolen as a Purrloin - to Hugh. Hugh doesn't believe it is the Pokemon. He turns to you and draws a battle with you. Defeat him just to have the other two members show up. Defeat them both when they draw a battle. The top Triad member returns the Liepard back to Hugh. After Hugh talks a bit, exit south back outside.
Giant Chasm (Main Area)
On the ice, go down, down the steps, right, up, right, up, right, down, left, down, right, up, right down the steps, down, right, down, right down the steps and back on land. Follow the path north to the deepest part of the Giant Chasm - enter the cave.
Giant Chasm (Deep Cave)
The wild Pokemon are the same as before you entered the main area of the Giant Chasm. Continue north through the first room and exit out the back.
Continue northward and find Ghetsis. Kyruem is summoned by Ghetsis and plans to freeze you right then and now. He calls Kyruem to Glaciate you. Just as you are about to be hit, you hear Zekrom (B2) / Reshiram (W2) being commanded to use Fusion Bolt (B2) / Fusion Flare (W2) - its signature move - to save you. Ghetsis knows who it is: N. N comes down on top of Zekrom/Reshiram. The pair of them talk for a while, revealing the past events. Ghetsis gets to the point where he is currently in possession of the DNA Splicers and uses them to fuse Zekrom / Reshiram and Kyruem together. A battle ensues to see Zekrom / Reshiram lose and be reformed to the Stone form they were before they were regenerated in Black & White Versions. Ghetsis commands Kyruem to absorb the stone that contains the legendary Pokemon. It does so and transforms to Black Kyruem (B2) / White Kyruem (W2). N can't believe that Pokemon can fuse. Ghestis gives you a fighting chance and allows you to challenge Black Kyruem / White Kyruem. Go up to it to be drawn to a "wild battle" with it.
Ghetsis reveals to you that it is impossible to catch it despite this being a wild battle due to his cane disrupting Poke Ball's signals - however you are still able to release them for battle. This battle will have Black Kyruem / White Kyruem at Level 55, by far the highest you have faced so far. Whichever version you are playing, they are both Dragon/Ice-types - so Fighting/Rock/Dragon/Steel-type attacks will do well to defeat this monster of a Pokemon. Defeat it however you can.
After the battle but before you get back to the scene, it is revealed that Kyurem and Zekrom separated themselves due to their defeat. Kyurem escapes and Zekrom goes back to N's side. Ghetsis starts to lose it and challenges you to a battle determined not to let you stop him. N right before the battle heals your Pokemon (shown with a sound effect and a "!" over his head) silently before you begin.
BOSS BATTLE: GHETSIS
Cofagrigus - Level 50
Seismitoad - Level 50
Drapion - Level 50
Elektross - Level 50
Toxicroak - Level 50
Hydreigon - Level 52
Prize Money: 9360
Ghetsis will lead with Cofagrigus - a Ghost-type, so no Normal/Fighting-type moves will work against him. Dark-moves are the way there. He has a Seismitoad, so Grass-types for that one. A Ground-type is a must in this battle as Drapion, Elektross and Toxicroak are all weak to it. Toxicroak are additionally weak to Flying & Psychic-type moves. Hydreigon despite its Dragon-typing has the most weaknesses among the six Pokemon Ghetsis has - those being to Ice, Fighting, Bug and of course its own type: Dragon.
Defeat him and foil his plans once and for all. Ghetsis will lose his mind like he did in Black & White versions. He won't believe that he lost to some "unknown" twice in his plans to take over Unova. N tries to make him come to his senses but just makes it worse. The Shadow Triad shows up to take him away, leaving his cane behind. N & Zekrom says thanks to you. N talks about his experiences and goes on to talk about the events two years ago. N will tell you to head to the Pokemon League then depart. Hugh will come in and ask if it is all over. Answer yes. Hugh tells you to prove your worth at the Pokemon League. He tells you to take the exit (previously guarded by Team Plasma) west in the front cave to Route 23. Exit south and out of the cave to the main area.
Giant Chasm (Main Area)
Items: Carbos, PP Up, Star Piece, Sun Stone, TM03 (Psyshock)
The Plasma Frigate ship has departed as Hugh mentioned earlier. Now that it has, explore the rest of the Giant Chasm. You may have noticed there were items you could not reach earlier which you now can grab. Explore the area and pick up the items. When you are done, exit south back to the cave then exit south from there to the main entrance of the Giant Chasm.
Giant Chasm (Main Entrance)
Wild Pokemon: Clefairy, Delibird, Lunatone, Pelipper, Solrock, Tangela, Vanillish, Audino*, Clefable*, Tangrowth*, Vanilluxe*
Items: Yellow Shard, Moon Stone, Max Potion
There are a few items near the main entrance, one in plain sight (near the steps to the east of the cave) and a couple you need to find via the Dowsing Machine. When you are done, follow the path south to the back-end of Route 13 we previously could not reach the first time.
Route 13
Items: Hyper Potion, Heart Scale
Take the right route and right before you go down, there is the second Hidden Grotto on Route 13 - previously you could not reach it. Explore it for what it is worth then continue downstairs. Pick up the Hyper Potion at the bottom. Use the Dowsing Machine to find a Heart Scale. Go back up and take the other way. Use Strength to push the boulder into the hole. Now we have a shortcut to the Giant Chasm instead of going through Route 22. Head west to Lacunosa Town and heal up at their Center after the long battle with Ghetsis. Go back to the Giant Chasm into the cave and head west along the path up until you see an exit west - the same exit Team Plasma blocked earlier. Take it to Route 23 - and Part 8 of this Walkthrough.
